Frank Chartrand is a graphic designer from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. He runs a design firm, Bureau, along with partner Nico Taus. He is a professor in the Graphic Design and Art and Design Fundamentals programs at Cambrian College and Communications Director for the Sudbury Design Society. Frank graduated from the Cambrian College of Applied Arts & Technology’s Graphic Design program in 2008 with an honours grade and was quick to enroll into Laurentian University’s Communication Studies program. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and is a part-time professor at Cambrian College in the Graphic Design and Art and Design Fundamentals programs since 2009. Frank has diverse design experience. Notably, he has designed visuals for successful campaigns such as “Mon Choix Smart” for Collège Boréal while part of the design team at OvertheAtlantic and brand identity for Laurentian University’s Centre of Research in Gerontology. Collège Boréal’s “Mon Choix Smart” campaign took silver (2nd) in the Not-For-Profit campaign category at the Canadian Marketing Awards (CMA), 2009. Frank is a Provisional member of the Association of Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario. (R.G.D.) and Communications Director of the Sudbury Design Society. During his spare time, he is an event and concert organizer and promoter. In 2009, he was recipient of the “Best Presenter” award from the Northern Ontario Music & Film Awards conference. Aside from being a designer, Frank is a musician in the Deranged Records post-punk group, VICIOUS CYCLE. They have toured North America extensively with acts such as ALEXISONFIRE, CANCER BATS, and BURNING LOVE. They are set to embark on a European tour in May 2010. He is free to talk. Email him here. |
